BRUCE'S SHOWS

STARDUST - The Life and Music of the Great Willie Nelson and Friends

The legendary country music superstar, Emmylou Harris once said “if America had one voice it would be that of Willie Nelson”. Singer, songwriter, guitarist, actor, novelist and golfer, Willie Nelson is a global household name. He has recorded many thousands of songs, mostly his own compositions of which literally hundreds have been number one best sellers. After almost two decades of recording “STARDUST”, his smash hit album, it is still one of the best selling records of all time.

This stage presentation, “Stardust” is a carefully scripted and cleverly produced solo presentation by Bruce McCumstie and is a wonderful tribute the life and music of the legend that is Willie Nelson.Throughout Australia, Bruce McCumstie is also a country music household name.

He looks like Willie, he sings like Wiilie, (even when he’s not trying to) and also has a guitar the same as Willie’s legendary old faithful “Trigger” and plays it just like Willie does. He was once introduced onto the main stage at the famousGympie Muster as “the man Willie Nelson sings like!”

“Stardust” is an exciting entertainment experience with audio-visual accompaniment of private slides of Willie, his band and his family taken over a period of many years and supplied in support of this show by Willie’s daughter Lana Nelson.

AUSTRALIA - Songs of Our Home and Heritage

Spurred on by the acceptance of his one man show “Throw the Billy On” and subsequent same titled album, Bruce McCumstie has recorded a new all original CD, “Unsung Heroes”.

All the tracks are story songs about his life experiences. The Brisbane Courier Mail once describing him as “the true face of Queensland.

“Australia” is a new solo production similar to the successful theme of “Throw the Billy On” which Bruce staged for over three and a half years at Harrigan’s in the Hunter Valley Gardens complex in the beautiful Hunter Valley Vineyards.

Over one thousand shows in all, entertaining predominately visiting international tourists along with regular Aussie visitors from all around Australia, who often came back time after time to enjoy the all Australian lunchtime show and have a yarn to Bruce about where they were from and places they know.

Taking a different direction now Bruce has decided that is now time to tour his music again and is looking forward to sharing his new show with both existing and new fans throughout our wonderful country and take advantage of opportunities to be an ambassador for everything Australian internationally.

“Australia” is a highly entertaining Australian experience, including Bush Poetry and Outback Yarns combined with Bruce’s larrikin quick wit and of course ALL AUSTRALIAN songs delivered with contemporary arrangements rather than the usual “Colonial Folk” approach.
